[One step at a time]

Trying to make a purchase in-person is a multi-step process:
(1) spend way too long looking at the list of options, trying to read and make meaning of it
(2) make several attempts to string together words
(3) take pity on puzzled worker, jab at list, and mumble, "that one. thanks."
(4) draw a blank on your name when worker asks
(5) when worker finally turns up with something that's pretty close to what you ordered, give up and take it, rather than risk trying more words
