You Know You Have PTSD When...

Instead of just being able to answer a simple question? Heeeeeere’s a metric shit ton of info you don’t need!!! :banghead:

Do you get UTIs or bladder infections often?

Not since my 20s. Byproduct of my job / rescue swimming. The thing about hurricanes, monsoons, & floods? First off you’re swimming in an open sewer. Literally. The sewer system always but always gushes into the street. Or what used to be the street. So that’s gross. With dead things bloating up and exploding into it. Which is more gross. Then you’ve got farm runnoff. Which means tetanus, anthrax, and e.coli. Along with whatever infections or parasites their animals had, or grow after they’re dead and bloaty. Tetanus was the scariest, we’d get new tetanus shots every year, when the general public does what? Every 7? 10? You just do NOT want lockjaw. There’s no cure, and we’ve all seen it, and it is absofreaking horrifying. And then there were all the chemicals, and parasites, and sick people bleeding on you... It’s really more of a wonder we didn’t get MORE sick than we did, come to think of it. Granted, we were loaded up to the gills on CIPRO, penicillin, things that end in -zole, and half a dozen other things; antibiotic, antigungal, antiviral, vaccinated, dewormed, all but bathing in betadine... maybe the wonder is that it’s still possible to get sick at all? I’ve probably got enough chemicals in me to be a Twinkie. Or to glow in the dark.

Blink. Blink. :wideeyed:

((DAMMIT FRIDAY... Why couldn’t you just let him think the UTIs came from wild sex, and keep your damn mouth closed??? Sigh.))

Sorry, Doc. I don’t talk about some things much, so when I do I sometimes babble.

I have never been happier that I don't swim. ?

When you figure out the difference between normal bad work day vs. Oh. That was objectively f*cked. only after talking to ppl both old in & new to same / similar jobs, about *their* bad days. :bored:

Cue more avoid-dance. Sucked it up & moved for 2 decades, now just looking for more suck it up cup.

... maybe I'm not just a wuss that kills people by existing near them, after all. :p

When your anxiety is decreased during a global pandemic. J is digging no traffic, no visitors, no shopping, no people out and about. He's taking less anxiety meds.

I on the other hand am getting stir crazy.
