You Know You Have PTSD When...

When several folks say that a man wants to be introduced to you and then he gets fresh with you verbally and you think that the ones who told you he wants to be introduced set you up and are all laughing at you behind your back, especially since one of them makes a joke about it after the guy has done it.

When you are so filled with dread your shoulders tense and you check your pulse, trying to calm down to a relaxed state. Your heart is beating too fast. Then your phone rings and you jump, and you decide to put it on silent for the day. This feeling of dread physically hurts.

When you long for some time to yourself, so you can rest/recover from being around people [or maybe that is just me being an introvert ].

... when you get home from shopping and put your stuff away, you open the bag from the drugstore and take out the over-the-counter med from it and then absent mindedly throw out the bag with your prescription for one of your psych meds in it! Later, when you run out of said med, you cannot find it (of course) and start searching the house. Finally you think to check the garbage, thinking that if the empty bag is in there with the drug info stapled to it, maybe you can discern if you at least brought it into the house (or left it in the car of the person who gave you a ride to the drugstore and grocery). You find the bag in there with the bottle still in it! You figure out what happened then. UGH! (Thankfully you did not miss a dose at least).
