I'll second the Disturbed suggestion- their first 4 albums are great angry music and v easy to listen to if you're not the usual metal head. But I also like to crank Marilyn Manson (straight to the Best Of to knock out the freaky shite) for good angry music.

For "man you really just need a kick to the head" opposite-sex sux music, I turn to A Perfect Circle. First album. Steer clear of The Noose on their second album, because even tho it's directed at an ex and can be good for sad/angry, it's not a great one for deep depression.

FYI: not a metal head myself. I've got my Enigma CD in the stereo at the moment for calm!

as others have said, sound of silence by disturbed is the best. I listen to that song a lot...by far one of my favourite ones.
