My husband has PTSD. Thanks to his behavior and how he treats me...now I have PTSD. Its not an excuse for behavior. I have a heart condition now (tachycardia) and it is affecting my job (i can't concentrate).

Welcome to the forum, Thewife, I'm glad you found us. You're right, PTSD isn't a license to abuse. I'm sorry that you've suffered from his trauma.

Are you both in therapy? If you plan to stay with him and he's not working on his recovery, there's little chance things will improve for you. Couples counselling might help.

My former counsilor who specializes in PTSD told me there is such a thing as "secondary PTSD" that can happen from supporting a partner with PTSD.

I've worked in Cardiology for 5 years now.. tachycardia isn't a heart condition, it just means your heart races (normal range is 60-100 beats per minute) and anything above is considered tachycardic. You're heart is pumping overtime, which can be caused by stress, anxiety, caffeine intake.... many reasons. There are medications that will slow your heart rate if it can't be managed without. Good luck to you, I think couples counseling may help <3
