What Groups Would You Classify Trauma In To?

This is in general because it is not a PTSD discussion, but instead to help me get feedback to build groups by knowing... basically, a list of trauma types.

Off the top of my head I could think off:

1. Bullying
2. Childhood
3. Employment
4. Family
5. Imprisonment
6. Medical
7. Military
8. MVA
9. Natural Disaster
10. Robbery
11. Sexual
12. Spousal
13. Terrorist
14. Torture
15. Violence
16. Witness
17. ....

Ok... I know there can be more... what are they all you smart people. Groups for trauma...

I can think of:

• Adult Abuse (Spousal)
• Event (Witnessing a traumatic event)
• Sibling Abuse

• Torture

Physical assault. [can be included in many of the types though - including bullying.]

Violation.. that covers most things though.

• forced sexual encounters (different from rape)
• home invasions

Can't think of anything else at the moment.

Well I guess the question is Starshine who inflicted the physical abuse or violation as there is always the chance of just being jumped by someone walking down the street (a stranger) etc.

• robbery like being held up at a bank etc at gun point

By the way, I'm a little confused by the question. Are you looking for unique and non-overlapping groups? Because going on my history, you could lump 'family' and 'childhood' in with each of these three: 'sexual', 'violence' and 'starvation'.
