Every year we go to Golden Corral for a free meal. It is on the 17th this year though.
Here is a list of several other places offering freebies to vets. Some are local stores but I am sure the national chains are the same or similar. You'll have to verify for your area.
Be prepared to wait in line! Try to avoid prime hours if you want less of a crowd.

• Applebee’s — Free entree from special Veteran’s Day menu, beverages not included, all day.

• Carmike Cinemas — Free small popcorn for military personnel and dependents with valid ID

• Columbus Technical College — Veterans Day program, 11 a.m. in McCaulley Auditorium, 928 Manchester Expressway. Free lunch afterward with meal tickets available at Hartline Information Desk, CARE Center and Wright Health Sciences Center

• Denny’s — Free “Build Your Own Grand Slam” meal from 5 a.m. to noon.

• Golden Corral — Free buffet meal and beverage NOT on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, but instead on Nov. 17, 5-9 p.m. Identification not required

• Goo-Goo 3 Minute Express Wash — Free express wash

• Great Clips — Free haircut on Nov. 11 or receive a card valid for a haircut through Dec. 31. Non-veterans can purchase a service and receive a card to give to a veteran.

• Hooters — Free meal up to $10.99 in value with a drink purchase all day.

• IHOP — Free red, white and blue pancakes 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Photograph in uniform or military dog tags also accepted as ID.

Sludge's house- Rare beef cooked on the bone and pint bottles of Stone brewing Company's Arrogant Bastard Ale. Also, fire!

We had a Golden Corral in town (now closed) One year the wife says lets go get you a free meal a Golden Corral, I think it starts a 1600. I said OK, we get there at 1620 and the line is like a 1000 miles long. We have Holloman AFB just outside of town and one big shit pot full of retirees. I told the wife lets go home and eat. She asked why and I said when you are in the Army you stand in lines, long lines and more lines. I will not stand in a line for a free $9.95 dinner.....It's nice of Golden Corral to offer, damn nice.......But no thank you......I'll pay $19.95 else where with out a line.:):):):) Now is that OCD, PTSD or just smart???(n)(n)(n)

There's a buttload of retirees here too. There is usually a pretty good line, but it goes by fast. It's worth it for us, 2 vets and I have to pay for the 2 kids. Plus I would stand in a line twice that long for their salad. They have the best salad EVAR! lol

I had a very bad experience at Golden Corral a few years back. Racist assholes wouldn't let my wife in because she (and I quote) "...was a filthy Mexican..." Cops were called as I had the manager by the throat. Lucky for me it was two female cops that showed up, one Hispanic and the other black. No charges were filed...but that was me pre-treatment. temper was always violent in those days.

I cashed in on free donuts and burritos at the local shops today. Wish I could drink as my favorite pub lets veterans drink for free during happy hour the entire week of vets day.

Holy bajeezus! I just can't even imagine.

I'm not partaking in any of that non sense today. I don't consider today a Veteran's xmas and don't want any hand outs. The girls at the coffee shop wanted to not charge me, I had to force them to do it.
