I'm really not sure what the hell to think anymore. Trump is fighting with his own party, his party is starting to break away from him in clusters. The Tweet wars between Trump and members of the GOP are becoming a public embarrassment. North Korea is threatening to attack Guam. The FBI is pulling predawn raids on Trumps former associates. Some in the GOP are saying that McCains cancer has affected his reasoning for voting NO on the health care plan. A Russian spy plan flew over the White House on Wednesday.

I'm having a really hard time keeping up with the news because it seems like everyday there is more and more happening, the Tweets are coming faster than I can keep up with, and it just seems like the United States Government has lost its f*cking mind!!!!! Never in my lifetime have I seen such f*cking crazy shit going on.

OMG Obama, Bush, Clinton, please come back and FIX this f*cking mess!!!! God, I wish that could happen!!!!!

My T says he dislikes the use of the word 'crazy' in this context because it lacks a certain precision.

Is a psychopath 'crazy'? I'm pretty sure Kim isn't stupid. Not quite so sure he's not 'crazy'.

Something I thought of yesterday, that I don't especially like, is that maybe the time to attach North Korea is now, before they have a bunch of nuclear weapons. I'm not wild about that idea, but it's a little hard to see the world as a safeish place with Kim having nucs. I think he probably has aspirations beyond his own boundaries. I'm concerned that, combined with his particular brand of 'crazy' he's never going to be a good neighbor. I'm equally concerned that he & our current president have a lot in common....

It's definitely a mess. Maybe they'll all be content with a bunch of named calling & moved on to other things.

Probably not in this version of reality. But, I think Kim is probably, ultimately, as much a threat to China as to anyone. So I could imagine scenarios where people here, and in China, discuss that honestly and agree to "solve" the problem somehow....... (I don't think that's very likely with the players we're actually dealing with.)

One of my biggest concerns about Trump was, when you give someone who thinks they deserve to be emperor of the known universe the keys to a very powerful military, how reasonable is it to expect them not to want to use it? I mean, the guy got into a crazy, apparently serious argument about how big his HANDS are. Can't imagine the whole "mine is bigger than yours" thing is going to stop with body parts. It seems like Kim might be coming from a similar place.......

The biggest issue with a preemptive strike on North Korea...... Their first option is to attack Japan, China, South Korea, and anyone else that they can cause collateral damage. Thousands upon thousands of lives will be lost. If Nucs are involved then the damage will be unimaginable for decades.....

We're dealing with 2 malignant Narcissistic personalities that believe that they are supreme and their word is the word of the land! This is beyond scary now!!!!!!

It's a freak show.

If we do anything militarily to North Korea, at least tens of thousands of people in South Korea will die. If I made that decision, I wouldn't be able to live with myself. There must be another way. There must be talks. There must be a way to convince Jong-un that he can have his regime and his nukes, just don't attack anyone else. As long as he's having them for his own protection/deterrence method, I think we need to find a way to live with that, and I know most don't want to accept that, but the alternative is simply unthinkable to me.

I mute him now. I find it easier to hear what he says through the NBC/MSNBC journalists. Or reading it. I can't bear to hear his voice or see his weird facial expressions and hand gestures anymore, either. Often, I swear he's growling out words. It literally makes me shake, so, as hubs says, the mute button is proof of the existence of God :). And hubs is agnostic, lol.
