Hi, am new to this-have been reading a bit and guess I just need a place to learn and vent sometimes.
My husband was hurt in an explosion at work. He had some bad head injuries, including damage to his eardrum, inner ear is messed up pretty badly, and he had to have a circle of skin (damage was clear to his skull) reattached.

Hi, am new to this-have been reading a bit and guess I just need a place to learn and vent sometimes.
My husband was hurt badly in an explosion at his job. He has physical injuries along with ptsd and survivors guilt.
I feel like I'm walking on eggshells all the time- he doesn't reach out to me. In fact sometimes I feel like the enemy. He is sooo nice to his kids, but gets angry easily at me.
He tells me he's a piece of $#it and nobody loves him. Says he expects me to leave cos that's what I've done with my other ex's.

That's awful. When did this happen? How is he doing with his recovery? Do YOU have a support network in place? Let us know if we can help in any way.
This happened just before Thanksgiving. His ear is starting to heal. His therapy with coworkers made this a bad couple of days for him. No I don't have a good support group. At one time when I was trying to help he told me this is about me not about you. Let me tell the doctor....

So it's early days but he's getting the therapy he needs. That's great. It's gonna get worse before it gets better though so you need some support of your own too. We'll always be here but could you find a therapist for yourself? And research PTSD and TBI. The more information you have the better. (imho)

Of course you cry alot. Your hubby has gone through a horrible trauma and it has changed both of your lives. Anyways, crying is healing in many ways. Do you have a friend or family member who you TRUST? Most people don't understand PTSD and mental illness so it can be difficult to find someone who "gets it". This is a great place to get support, factual information and ideas. Keep on reading and sharing. Hugs to you both!
