Only 3 weeks left until I return to college part-time to pursue my postgraduate studies! I am so excited about it. I've been putting it off for years because I was petrified of applying. One of my "things" is that I hate anyone having to bother spending time on me which includes opening my application and processing it, basically spending time on me.

So not only did I apply and get accepted.....I applied for funding through my employer for some of the fees and I got approved for the full amount!

Over the next few days I'm going to be painting the room I plan to use for studying in. I got lovely purple and pink shades for it. The desk I want is kind of out of my price range......but it looks soooooooooooooo good and would look really fancy against the purple.

Yeah but anyway.....start date is September 14th. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and then getting to see my old college lecturers again. I did all my previous studies there and adored the lecturers. They are aware of my history and they were there for me after one of the major traumas. They were the first people that believed in me academically and professionally and always gave me fantastic support. Going back there makes me happy!

Please note.......I will probably be a total stresshead in about 2 months time when it comes to getting assignments done! hehe! So feel free to give me a slap around the head and redirect me to this thread when I start moaning.

Oh you'll be in good company for the same reasons I'm sure! I've seen others headed to school with mixed emotions-but determined to do well, as you are! Keep checking threads, since I'm sure it will be really helpful to compare notes, so to speak! :) I also wish I were not too old for pink and purple color combinations-and also that my husband were not notoriously opposed to these completely feminine colors. It sounds so pretty! Of course, would probably not have married him if he DID like them, so will just admire other's decor.

Hope it's a wonderful semester!

I'm a mental health nurse so doing my postgraduate diploma in mental health.

Lately I said sod it....I'm single now so I can paint the house really pretty girly colours!

How exciting..I would LOVE to take this! I am a nurse too and psych was my favorite subject..I had high 90's then. Maybe one day...right now I have to work on doing the refresher course (if I deceide to to this at all..I am looking into other options too) I am starting out slowly by taking a computer course to see if I can sit in a classroom. Anyway...good luck!

There's a smile! Hee! I miss that- 'sod it'. I lived over there for a bit, and never found anything quite approaching it's decriptive power! The upside is that one can use awful British swear words with impunity here also, and noone has the vaguest idea you've been at all vile.

Still enchanted with the feminine colors, and best wishes with the degree!

Good luck with whatever you do Pandora. I find my experiences have made me the great nurse I am today. I relate alot better to the clients than most nurses I have worked with and it has worked wonders for the therapeutic relationships.

Thank you intothelight.

Anni.....I also have a very colourful vocabulary in person, just like my house decor! Just about to head up stairs now and dig in to the paint and try not make a God awful mess!

never too late for anything. I was able to make it through a very tough time by returning and finishing a degree, I graduated with credits that were over 25 years old! what could be better than something that challenges your mind, gives honest feedback, and rewards fairly. My employer also paid my way, I can't say it was always fun but I remember the whole experience as one big positive chapter in my life. good for you for doing something so good for you
