Why has Australia ordered so many vaccines?

^^^The Australian Government sends aid (in lots of different ways) on a regular basis to it's island neighbours.

The Prime Minister has stated publicly (ABC news yesterday) that he'll be buying up a lot of vaccines to supply those neighbours and other's in the region because they don't have the financial or logistical capabilities to do so.

Our defence forces will be deployed to assist with disseminating to those small and in some cases 3rd world nations... that you were very concerned about earlier in the thread?

Central Florida are now having vaccines stolen. How that can happen from a person breaking in from the street is beyond me.

COVID Vaccines Offered to Donors Who Gave Over $10,000 to Hospital

Vaccination appointments were also offered to the hospital's board members as well as some patients, volunteers, employees and retired health providers.

The governors office say they only know of 1 hospital who was giving its $10,000+ donor list priority access... but earlier in the week most insurance-owned hospitals had 2 seperate “make an appointment” buttons on the vaccine page. Donors (with a button to become a 10k donor) & Members of the Community. Donor appointments available same day, every day. The other one booked out for months.

Miraculously... after the Gov. did a very public smackdown of he hospital they were tipped off about, all the OTHER hospital websites “crashed” for about 24 hours???

I would expect that the donor-portal still has an instant access to vaccines, that it’s simply not on their homepage, anymore. But I’m cynical like that.

Nursing staff here are also protesting at one of our local hospitals because the donors and "important" people got vaccinations before they did. Hospital says "they had to because otherwise the shots would have gone to waste".

Doubtful (in my specific case anyway). Symptoms started few hours after I got vaccine (assumed vaccine side effects so didn't get tested til 3 days later when it didn't ease off) so basically the vaccine wouldnt have had a chance to work yet. If I got covid now a couple weeks later it might lessen it theoretically but vaccines take time to work.

In countries where it is illegal to spread misinformation and disinformation about COVID19 it seems the ability to pick out fake information is higher. In the Scandinavian countries, with their higher quality education, where they get taught critical literacy skills, they also have a better developed ability to pick out fake news, misinformation and disinformation. It's really interesting to watch the different countries and their choices about how to manage news and health information.

ms spock, I love your post and how informed you are. I have a head injury and can not comprehend all of this. I don't mean to be a smart ass, but you are way ahead of me. ((((hugs if thats ok)))). I have so much trouble just dealing with facts. I am into the scientist and am not one of those crazies. Would you mind sharing ( I guess in a low intelligence level) what you know. If you need to you can do privately...maybe. I keep trying to donate but cant get a pay pal account (my goof). I sure wish they would take a credit card

I was at our town grocery today and the cashier was wearing a mask under her nose. She and a customer were talking about how now they would have to wear masks until the war, or 4 years from now. I couldn't believe that there are still people who don't believe Covid is real! It's just the flu, I was told. After my fusion surgery, the surgeon came in the room not wearing a mask, saying that Covid was not as bad as they say. My paranoia grew by leaps and bounds. I have to remember to calm myself every day. I don't want to be in a war, or civil unrest. Yikes!

I have so much trouble just dealing with facts.

There really is so much we don't know yet. And the facts are a bit different in different countries with various types of variants. Some countries have first world medical systems and some have third world systems so they have different resources.

The Chinese Communist Party didn't put out transparent or correct information and Chinese Whistle Blower Doctors did pay high prices for speaking out, and have done so over time on different versions of social media.

Would you mind sharing what you know.

I am happy to share any information that I have at my disposal at an accessible level. I can share something and if it is not accessible to you due to I didn't explain it well enough or you have a TBI is fine for me. If you can't read sources that is fine. Just keep asking questions until you feel comfortable with what I am saying.

I am not a medical expert or a medical practitioner. There is a lot that I don't know. I am quite fascinated by it all though.

So you can ask questions here, or start another thread if you want to - not sure where you would do that but tag me in.

One that is fairly accessible and about 10 minutes five days per week is Coronacast. It's pretty anglocentric to my mind (in that it doesn't take in our Australasian neighbours that did really well with SARS, Taiwan's Pandemic Office, the other successes that leave us for dead,etc but anyway) but it's worth listening to it. It depends on your concentration levels.
