Opinions Needed: Kindergarten Teacher's Disturbing Actions

I just want to know your opinions about this.

Is it OK for a kindergarten teacher to show a wooden spoon to children and threaten to beat them up if they don't close their eyes during nap? I want to add that the teacher who did this also told kids that on the wooden spoon, there was blood of kids who had been beaten up before with that.

I think this seriously crosses a line.

Sadly I’d say, depends on where this takes place and when. In the US in the 1950-1970 id say this was normal. Not okay and yet normal.

Threatening to hurt children is something I really feel strongly about. No from me. Do not like.

The only exception being purely playful (in which both parties are entirely in on the lack of stakes) jesting. Then it can be ok. But I very much doubt this was the case, here.
And even if it was, hypothetically, it seems like there was ambiguity and room for the broad and venerable audience to process it in frightnenung ways.

Exactly. The teacher then walked among the kids to check who "had their eyes closed" with the wooden spoon in the hand.

It does. Totally unnecessary. Inducing fear rather than discipline.
Needs reporting.
Yeah. I just can't understand how someone can treat a child like that. There is also other stuff that happened as well...

I also wonder if this seriously crosses a line too. I remember this to this day

I was about 4 years old and my stomach hurt very badly. I told the teachers that it hurt but they told me to not make it up. I was crying the whole morning because of the pain, but they didn't do anything. They only believed me and actually did something after I had vomited on a lunch.

WHAT? Are you in the United States? Did your child tell you about this? How do you know it's true? If you know this to be true, do NOT send your child back into that school. Call the Superintendent of the school district and tell them you are refusing to allow your child into that classroom. That teacher is a SOCIOPATH, at best, and very DANGEROUS, at worst. Do you have an attorney? Call him. You might need a letter from him to the Superintendent of school district. Also, contact the POLICE and report this. Your child is too young to be questioned and I wouldn't allow that as it might be traumatic but some official report of this conduct has to be made. AND: contact OTHER PARENTS of children in this classroom. There's power in numbers. If enough of you descend on the Principal's office and demand this person be removed from that classroom, and from the SCHOOL, and threaten to go to the MEDIA in your local area, something will be done.

It's what I've experienced as a little child. I don't want to sound dramatic or anything like that, but I remember the fear I felt to this day.

The whole situation is completely.. out of line. But especially the blood part, like wtf? And also what I've experienced with the stomach pain and vomiting (I wrote about it above), like I can't understand it, I get some kids fake illnesses but when a child cries they are probably aren't faking anything...
