News Does America Need A Civil Revolution?

You would find coal mines here still work under Unions, for obvious reasons due to the nature of the job, just like commercial construction.

OK Going to stick my nose into a boiling pot.
We need civil unrest, this democracy is NOT. The government controls everything you hear, read, and listen to. Pay attention to your boys/girls that come home from the wars. For they are the instrument of the government!
WAR= Population control; If the boys and girls where here at home the jobless rates will rise for their jobs are guaranteed upon their return (if they return). Soldiers are the weapon of governments their expendable, that way educated politicians can raise the taxes on your husband’s/wives that are left behind as your gone fighting for them, never mind the fact that they have to survive with government assistance because THE GOVERNMENT doesn’t pay you crap!
The Government has to stir the pot in other countries so that they can justify the spending they do.
The US is a giant bully! It’s well known in other countries but you ask an American that listens to the American controlled news system and you’d be face to face with the sheep! You get a break away once in awhile but they get locked up for being a terrorist.
As to North Korea we (the US government) brought it upon herself by sticking her nose where it didn’t belong! But hey that’s what bullies do stand in the back ground and push others into war until they are partly beaten then jump in and say we’ll get it done, except the US wasn’t expecting china to give back up.
The US isn’t democracy it’s SOCIALIST!! Slavery was abolished so that the civilian has to work for scratch change so that the CEO can get rich of their blood! Put a CEO on a Rigid K1500 (1” sewer cleaning cable machine) and see how long he will stay, let alone his/her stomach stays down! That’s the good thing about my job Americans cannot survive without running water, and waste water going to where it’s suppose to go. Treat me like what flows down hill I can refuse to work for you and watch as your house fills with it!

I wouldn't say America is socialist, being socialism: Socialism is an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources. Australia is quite socialist in some areas, as are many other Commonwealth countries, but America do not fit that realm IMHO. Our Government is very public, open and under constant scrutiny, hence corruption exists, but its very minimalist because the chances of being caught are extreme likely due to our socialist methods. We all pay taxes, then if you are unemployed, you still get paid, you still get a roof over your head, if you have kids you are priority, if you are aged you are taken care off, etc etc... either way, you are fed and a roof over your head, regardless your circumstances. If you want more, then you work, which is the incentive. Many think such an economy can't function, ie. many want the US to go to a socialism economy, because it removes the corruption, but it would never happen because those with money internally won't allow it unless they get their $$$ out first, then it must collapse before it can be changed.

IMHO, from what we see outside of the US, then what you within the US say, the US has fallen exactly to what is more what they preach to fight against, being a communistic methodology: Communism is a sociopolitical movement that aims for a classless and stateless society structured upon common ownership of the means of production, free access to articles of consumption, and the end of wage labour and private property in the means of production and real estate. Sounds like America to me from all accounts.... or atleast well on its way to it.

Hahahahahaha cherryblossom that is the funniest stuff ive seen all week. Ask americans who thier Vice President is and if they dont have a computer in front of them to google it they cant.

Heck I know a Mexican girl that gets US education that can name each state w/ its capital, You cant get that from a 10th grade American student! Here in Oklahoma in Midwest City the school system is going to lay off 200 teachers yet the supertendant is going to get paid $185+K a year (Scratches head).

Health care here sucks! And if you think if your a Vetern it'll be better.. ROFLMFAO Go stay at the Ritz called Walter Reed!!!!!

People here have no clue, they just go by the rat race they always have lived. I can remember the cars lasted for eons before a single part broke, today you'd be lucky if any part on the car lasts past a year (even more so if it doesnt have a glitch in its electronics that might kill you). *Note those peoplle that got killed by run away cars: NASA couldnt fi nd anything wrong with the electronics it had to be the floor mate problem that caused the problem... HMMMM???? What part of N in NASA did you miss????

Some reason a simple refrigerator can't make it past 5 years without going out. Window A/c's can't make it past 2 years. We agreed to trade with china to get what lead in the childrens toys, a debt that is OMG!!! Dry wall that falls apart in 3 years (now has to be removed by specialest due to the fear of dangerous chemicals there within because of its attaction to black mold).

The biggest LOL I can think of is the false advertisement on bottled water "Fresh spring water" Its filtered water straight out of a tap! yet its called spring water so that youll buy it!

Everyone in the US had to buy HD tv's because it was demanded by the FCC!! What part of the F in FCC did you folks miss????

Take me I was trained by the Government to do specialized work, Cannot in anyway find a calling for that kind of work in the civilian populous, yet whenever a unexplainable explosion goes off I have cops/ATF/FBI knocking on my door asking me ten thousand questions!!!!

I dont write anything in any forum nor on my pc that can be used or miss contoured by any government official that could lead to possible prosicution thats how well I trust this Government! For at one time I was considered as a expendably lose!

Very, very true. Odd note It was that way when it came to my home and land, had to hand it over to the ex-wife that didnt work a single day through our 13 year marrage, It was home and land or pay $2,500 monthly as alamony, good thing I did became unemployed 2 months later where the unemployment was a meer $1000 monthly. As to the bold above my G/F can clairify it for you even better, (shee has to me often) She lived in Russia in 1965.

I'm glad you posted this. I think this is very true of the direction the US is going in. We're so capitalistic that it doesn't make sense anymore. The problem isn't the government saying what you can and cannot do, it's that the government is in this weird limbo where it's trying to cater to this "free market" (basically, letting corporations do whatever they want to do) while also trying to placate the people (who are routinely screwed over by a "free market"). I just don't think we're striking a good balance. I think plenty of other countries have found better middle-points than we have, and it's very possible for the US to find a way to make things work in such a way that the people of the country are being served while encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship. I know it can be done, but as Intothelight pointed out, it requires participation of all citizens and the education and self-education of all citizens.

And the 3 rd. estate will rise again ! I worked very hard for 30 years. When I wasn't a full time paid Fire/EMS guy, I was working full time and volunteering 24 hours a day for the later. After some 12 years post PTSD diagnosis, I have lost everything. I'm currently living in a small apartment with tooooooo much noise. The noise triggers me. I don't have much CONTROL over the noise. Control, or the lack thereof is a big deal to many of us. I'm done trying to be diplomatic, I'm pissed, I'm triggered and think I'll get the hell out of here before I do something I may regreat. (I honestly can't think of much I would regret).

So, thank you very much USA ! I should be glad I get that little SS disability check every month. Thank you very much for having to fight for my job in the middle of PTSD, for having to live with all the threats and persecution when I wasn't really capable of fighting that fight. Thank you for robbing me of my righful disability retirement, not to mention house, perceived credability, credit, inability to get medical/mental health help, wife and now failure at every attempt to do something worthwhile to suppliment my income and have a real life (people relationships etc), and should thank the greed of Corporate America who makes it impossible for little me to compete in a tiny business....cause my dealer prices are far higher than retail at Walmart, Bi-mart, Amazon. Yeah.....thanks for giving THEM a break. Thanks for making it impossible for me to keep my current licenses and certification because they cost too much and I have to travel too too far to re-cert. etc.

Can I blame it all on the US ? No, of course not ! It's ALL my fault.. I gave a shit....and did the work most could not do. The US and the Government clear down to the little local municipal Gov.......I KNOW they cared....I think they did. When weighed against the almighty dollar they quickly forgot that they cared, if they ever did. (WHAT EVER MY PHYSICAL/MENTAL PROBLEMS WERE....HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR EMPLOYMENT).

I didn't do all that so...I can live like this. I did do all that because it was the right thing to do, the necessary thing to do and i was good at it....paid or not. Some people can't turn away from human suffering, pain, disaster. A curse or a calling ? Some call it the sheep dog mentality in broader terms, hence my little business" "Sheep Dog supply".
(stock that's left is for sale at a sale price, but I could't mail it outside the US)

In the end I didn't do what I did for the USA. I did it because I wanted to, was good at it and not everybody could do it. It was the right thing to do. That is a theory and belief the US was based on before the age of complete corruption and greed, before carreer poloticians. What is right is right.

Sadly, after years of working on MY stuff....I don't give a shit. I QUIT.

Maybe tomorrow will be better...

Unfortunately, Mysihba has many, many good points- and 30 years ago what was written there would have been unthinkable here. Even then- it was such an eye-opener to go live in a 'Socialist' country and see how far we'd drifted from what anyone could actually term a Democracy. Socialist? Hardly. I wish to heck we were, although the word has been turned into another swear word via the conservatives and press. That way the top 2% doesn't have to share anything with all the workers who helped them get there in the first place and support their insane lifestyle. You'd THINK Civil unrest, which would spark civil revolution would be sparked off BY the press's incessant coverage of the sheer, nauseating decadence flaunted by the extremely wealthy. I mean things like hot tubs in the back of limosenes, having 4 fully-functioning mansions in which to live, spending tens of thousands for a child's birthday party ( anyone seen that new, vomitous 'reality' show? ), hundreds spent on manicures for dreadful little dogs, closets full of shoes at 800+ a pair. What do we do? We turn on the dam TV and LOVE watching this crap, not demand that some reasonable standard of living be available for all Americans. Sure, people who work hard should be able to enjoy their money- where is the line? My best friend in high school had a heliport in her back yard. Her father wasn't a corporate head who was required to launch at any moment- he just wanted one, and of course the helicopter to go with it. The 'answer' seems to be for everyone to aspire to THIS as 'The American Dream', in the meantime go get a credit card or 6 and try to keep up. I was in NYC not long ago, and wanted to stop for coffeee. There was this fashionable, upscale bistro so we thought we'd duck in there, knowing the prices would be awful but wanted coffee. There was a homeless man sleeping almost across the doorway-seriously. You'd have to step across his feet to get in. People WERE, like he was a scrap of paper, to go buy an 8 dollar cappacino.Yes, we did leave. Socialist? I wish. Until every single person does begin to reject this ridiculous, immoral, unconsciounable state of affairs and acts upon it, the Aligarchy will indeed lead us into something perilously close to a one class system- only it'll be theirs. I don't think they consider poor people a 'class'.

Well stated anni. You reminded me of a time years ago when I had to go to the biggest city in Oregon to take a test at a Univeristy located down town. The homeless were everywhere and I literally had to step over some in the door way, to get into the university. I will never forget that.

At the risk of my too often scrambled rambling mixed with dyselxia and fingers that won't type what I tell them to type (thanks ptsd) I feel compeled to try to make some points. I don't link "liberal" and "conservative" really mean much any more and i don't agree with the extreme elements on either side....so i try not to use those labels.

1. Homeless....are considered by most to be

A. worthless, lazy, dregs, drug addicts, alcohoics sucking on society and the government cause they are too lazy to work...""(I'm not paying MY money to support those poeple""
B. Poor disenfranchised people who should have...all the good things in life ""Just keep them the hell away from my fancy house, family, cars and pools...and as long as I don't have to pay for it.""

I don't want to support people too lazy to work either. I want to work. I have worked hard. I'm tired of this country supporting and paying for all the benefits I can't get to many that just show up....and are entitled....I don't get it.

That doesn't mean I support category A or B. Eliminate the Extremes and what do we have left ?? Not a perfect world but maybe we would have a New normal which could find reasonable solutions.

Did I mention "extremes" ?????? Extreme seems to be the new Normal... I WANT a NEW NORMAL. A New Normal in which common sense prevails regardless of politics, religion et. al.

Point of fact ; we don't know why all the homeless are homeless. We DO know that the majority have a mental disabilty. Some years back the numbers of homeless exploded because the govn. stopped supporting some and closed down many mental health facilities. Just a fact.

(please don't spit on me as you step over me....as i may be living in that doorway to higher education soon.....)
((What a PICTURE...stepping over the homeless to get into an institution of Higher Education....That really does paint a picture that even I could not express in words))....but I just might try to, along with actually putting in book form....the volumes of writing I have done.....and....I love photography. Maybe I could get that perfect picture that words can't express. I might try if I had the money, equiptment and health to go there. Maybe the current Gov. would give me a huge grant to do that....if I promised to not leave a carbon foot print while going and coming and give them my guns.......and bought an electric car which i can't afford and would not take me off the highways in the middle of nowhere....places i have to go. Maybe Al Gore would lend me his "clean" jet. (made clean by paying carbon taxes ??)

Back to the point of revolution ! This country was founded on revolution. On the positive side it could be that other countries might still be under and autocracy if we had not done it ? On the other side, most revolutions fail or end up worse because the people leading them care only about themsleves and power...and eliminate anybody that stands in the way. I might add that here, 25% of the founding fathers wanted to stay with England after the revolution, 25 % wanted to be independant....and 50% just really didn't care (sound familiar). The big difference is most of the founding Fathers here had a good and righteous intent, had integrety....and wanted it for the general good....and for the rights of all human beings and their childern and their children's children...NOT POWER and GREED.

How does one fix and unfixable problem ?? I wish I knew cause this sense of having no control over much of anything....and triggers everything....and probably that is true for most that read this (if they have ptsd).

I wish I knew..... the only thing I know is..." if you don't like the hole you are in, start by throwing down the shovel."
Then, if you are too deep to get out maybe....some samaritan will pick up a shovel at ground level, and slowly start throwing dirt into(my) hole. So the bottom I'm standing in gradually gets closer and closer to the surface....and at some point I can step from my hole to the surface..........

Then start the revolution. Only start it if it's the "right thing" to do, with the right intentions, goals and beliefs....

Geees, if I wasn't surrounded by "extremes", I wouldn't have to be extreme, or be consider evil and extreme.

Geees, if I wasn't surrounded by "extremes", I wouldn't have to be extreme, or be consider evil and extreme.
You know, I don't believe that everyone is as extreme as the media makes it seem. I think most people are somewhere in the middle, thinking that welfare is generally a good idea, but also wanting to encourage people who are able to work to go work.

I think it's just plain ridiculous that you have Fox News, for example, saying how these poor CEOs are facing layoffs when they really are very talented folks, don't mess with their pay and Teachers Unions need to be destroyed because they are evil and force states to shell out big bucks to these lazy and incompetent teachers who don't even work all 12 months of the year. On the other side, you hear about how all millionaires are evil environment-destroying scumbags who have no concept of how tough it is at the bottom, their idea of cutting back is buying a Porsche instead of a Lamborghini.

If the media focused on what people actually think, they wouldn't be as edgy and shocking to the masses. If they were to say things like "CEOs should be rewarded for good work, but they should stay out of politics, and need to make concessions so that teachers can earn livable wages", they'd be so boring. All of that advertising money would go out the window, and then what?

I think we need to decide as a nation that we just want to simplify things, get rid of inflammatory talk, and make concessions for the good of the community. Which reminds me, the Supreme Court is allowing that stupid church to continue protesting at funerals?! I would GLADLY give up my right to protest at funerals to protect the emotional well-being of the mourning families at funerals. What the hell is wrong with a country that allows a bunch of hateful idiots to drop-in on a funeral?! I think we have totally lost sight of our priorities as a nation.

I just can't quit now. I'm sorry I don't have the facts at hand. Some years ago the UN was envolved in Africa in Rwanda??? Could be wrong on the country. The short story is the revolutionaries were butchering and mutilatiing huge numbers. The UN couldn't control it. The country brought in a PMC (private military company) consisting of I think about 180 troops. They stopped most of the genocide in short order. Political pressure from the world forced the PMC out. The UN came back in and the genocide continued. One of may examples of "bad" revolution, what happens if there are no "good guys" that care enough to sacrifice them selves for the good of humanity....and how worthless the UN is.

Vee...I'm with you 100%. If I had the time and money i would volunteer for every single funeral, to provide "security". The veterans motorcylce group was doing a pretty good job of that but I don't know how wide spread they are etc.
Some cause are worth going to jail for or worse.

We are taught and told now that we have to be "Tolerant", and fuzzy feel good, and to express anything freely... and all will be well. To bad more people were not a part of the "real world", and had some sense of morality and ethics.

Colonel Colt and T Roosevelt had it right. Sometimes hugs and kisses don't solve everything. yeah, roll over and become a victim or do nothing while hateful people get away with abusing people in a kind of pain most can't comprehend..

The one, single time the friggin Supreme Court decides to do something 'Liberal' and it swings so far to the right it's drifting somewhere in raft towards the British Islands. Freedom of Speech my flabby aging backside-those swine just told all our service people their value is bubkas and they do not have the rights everyone else does. If someone stood outside my door and hurled that kind of abuse at me, I'd be able to call the nearest handy-dandy policeman and have them hauled off for terroristic threats.

There are abuses in every system. It's inevitable. The conservatives solution to this is to cut off all help for all people in need. I'd rather pay taxes and have the poor, needy, elderly, and handicapped taken care of properly in the full knowledge that the lazy people out there will certainly also abuse the system than not have a system at all. I don't want to support the schmucks who wish a free ride, but realize I have to in order to get help to the others. It's not right, it's just the way it is.

Reagan closed all the mental hospitals with hardly a chirp from the general public. Patients were quite literally put out onto the streets with instructions to come get their medication at xyz location and nothing else. Crime sky rocketed, people wandered off and died, most found refuge in storm drains and cardboard box communities because the shelters were and remain overwhelemed-he cut funding for these also. This country elected him again, and there was talk of overturning the laws to try and have his Altzheimer ridden head run for a 3rd term. He had symptoms of this in office, but such is the power of that particular machine that most did not know. That's completely true- he was very nearly evaluated during his 2nd term. The man was pretty much by the general public he perpetrated grave inhumanities upon and it's on his head we can lay this radical swing to the right the entire country took- where we are now. He said he'd do it and succeeded beyond what one could imagine for a late-comer to politics. The fact that he began as a Democrat and felt he had a better chance as a Republican is something else noone ever felt it incumbent to offer to G. Public as a fun fact to know. If Civil Revolution is to be implemented, the dynamics of how the heck we got here in the first place has to be dissected and revealed- where we went wrong, so we can go 'get right'. ( No inference to political movement intended. )

I'm watching the 'unrest' in Libya with dread. Funny this thread popping up just now, since it appears we're headed ( being lead ) towards believing there's yet another area of the world the US is going to have to pay for one way or another. Gas prices have already gone up, no doubt the military will be heading there sometime later. The fact that there's no good reason for either seems ample reason for the citizens to begin speaking loudly, and soon.
