My Wife Hears Me Moaning In The Middle Of The Night.

My wife hears me moaning in the middle of the night. I'm also waking up with soaked pajamas and sheets. So with the noises and sweats, I'm assuming I'm having nightmares. However, I don't remember any such thing in the morning. Ideas? Suggestions? Comments?

I wouldnt assume nightmares. I get night sweats sometimes, without nightmares and I just chalk it up to stress.. some nights are better than others.

I was watching t.v. a couple of days ago and the medical show the "Doctors" said that night sweats are caused by low blood sugar.

I thought that was interesting because I get them at night sometimes too.

Perfectly normal if PTSD is not yet controlled. See your doctor to have biological ruled out first, then that leaves you with PTSD.

I used to do this a lot when my symptoms were running rampant, with no memory or recollection of nightmares, thrashing about in the bed, I had even hit my wife at the time and near strangled her, all completely unbeknownst to me... no memory of it at all. Yelling, screaming, etc etc...

Very normal with veterans... until such time as you get symptoms controlled.

Alcohol will also cause night sweats among other things. Not that is your case. Menopause is a biggie, not meant for you either.

Not sure if any help, but I get nightmares in way of flashbacks alot.

As rule of thumb for me, and this is not always the case; if I self-medicate with alcohol and pot (which I do too much) I don't remember the nightmares quite so much when I wake up. But those are the nights my wife tells me I am most mobile and aggressively loud whilst asleep.

When I go to sleep clean of any substance (which I don't do enough) the nightmares are far more clear and memorable and I will get up and come downstairs as soon as I have woken up. But those are the nights my wife tells me I am most sleeping seemingly peacefully.

I don't know what that means, or how common it is in others but 80-90% of the time thats the way its been for me.

I usually remember the nightmares...I only stay at my boyfriends on the weekend...I told him too wake me up and he just tells me its ok and reminds me where I am and that I am safe, that helps. At home...I swear my dog knows..I will wake up with her pretty much sitting on my head! I find that when the "ptsd cup" is filled and overflowing, I get more nightmares and flashbacks.
It really is essential, though I know not always possible to keep your stress level down but I know that is alot easier said than done. I wake up sweating too.. Congrats on being alcohol and drug free 18 years!
