Promise to self: as tomorrow is Christmas day I am going to drive to a state park with a picnic, my ipod and a book. I will find a nice quiet place to relax and when the waves of emotion start to take over I will practice my mindfulness to help me cope.
Ha! So much for promises to self! I can't get myself to do this. Not feeling too bad about it, as it is going to be 40 degrees today, and I think the heat will be a bit much for me at the moment.
So the plan to cope with being alone on Christmas day?
1/ be here quite a bit - I have read quite a few posts from people who are worried or sad about being alone for Christmas and I am one of this group. Being here makes me feel as though I have understanding and support.
2/ I sent PM's so a couple of people I my country, who have said they will be alone, wishing them well.
3/ Follow my own advise and do things to help myself endure the day - it might be too hot to go walking in the State Forrest, but I can watch movies, have a nap, facebook and practice my newly discovered mindfulness exercises.
4/ Use my  pillow to feel safe.
