I am certainly not intending to lead anyone on here.
I was merely trying to validate his experience. Maybe the little boy inside of him is just simply looking for someone to validate PTSD as a possibility. That is not the same as leading someone on.
I see a boy who may be turning you (Anthony) into his father/mother. So no matter what you say to him as an adult, that little boy is going on the defense and will try anything to get you to love him, approve of him, and validate his experience--even if it is irrational.
We have all been there in one way or the other.
And I have come to this conclusion based on his ambiguous responses, negation of every advice given, and not completely answering questions.
I don't know what that screams to you but to me, it screams, "I want to be loved and validated and paid attention to because I never got that! I never mattered to anyone! I feel crazy and small and insignificant. I just want to be held and told that I am not crazy!"
