I searched the forums and found several threads about getting the feeling of terror and doom during our after a flash back, but not a constant lower level.

I have always gotten these terrors and feeling I am about to die in flashes that come out of nowhere, but lately I have kept an almost constant feeling. It is the same as the ones that have hit me before but in the past it would always go away after a while. Now it is staying in place at a lower level and then flaring up to a panic and ten going back down in severity but not leaving. It is a feeling like death is on my back or something is about to kill me. I even have an almost sensation on my back that feels almost physical (how's that for not making sense). I know there is nothing there, but I almost feel like there is a knife or something touching my back.

What the heck is going on? Anybody ever do this for days at time and not just in a panic attack that goes away minutes or hours later?

Short answer, yes. It did work itself out as I started to put memories together....

Oh great, so the constant is because we are getting closer to starting the memory work. . How wonderful. . Not!!

Thanks omum ☺

I feel you.
In the past I drank a shitton to cope. When I stopped drinking I found _one_healthy_alternative that helped me. Excercise. Nothing else worked, but excercise worked well.
I hope you don't feel preached at, just wanted to share what worked for me.

I feel like that sometimes...It sort of comes in spurts with me and has a lot to do with stress in me at least. Meditation sometimes works for me, not always...like I say it happens with me when I am more stressed than others.

Thanks Verem,,, my doctor would like you.. LOL... exercise is a form of torture for me, just the thought of having to get out and walk adds heaps to the depression, but I love the input.

That makes sense because we have started talking about getting to more heavy work, so it very well might be the stress.

I recognize it in panic attacks, but it has never NOT went away before. I hate it.

Thanks guys
