I don't want to hijack the thread, but to perhaps shed some light on the possible origins of thatcher's personality (aside from her appalling taqiya , she had the "black sheep vs Golden child" thing going on with her kids) and the sort of people she surrounded herself with.

I think it's ok now if you can prove "self defense". I'm not all that confident that you're consistently going to be able to prove killing the potential perp isn't excessive. When you consider that now victims are often questioned about why they were there and what they were wearing..... And, defending yourself is expensive, even if you're found innocent. I'm thinking if he wants the wild west, it ought to be a level playing field.
