After a strange reaction to Paxil my doctor has started me at a very low dose of Celexa (10 mg) daily. I trust my doctor and she knows my sensitivity to drugs now. However, the fact it is still an ssri class drug worries me. Anyone wish to share their experiences with Celexa? What should I look...
I cannot offer advice unfortunately but I certainly relate. My Fiance gets upset with me sometimes, because I never feel I deserve anything nice. When I get something new, last month it was a pair of clippers for my hair and face...I feel guilty and constantly apologize for needing the items...
To me pot is the mother of natural medicine. That is to say it is highly medicinal for many ailments and for me that includes ptsd. I currently only take vistaril for anxiety. I was taking Paxil but experinced terrible side effects and felt that my brain was not my own. Just saying in my opinion...
Yes it is true. I used to take around 30 mg a day. You can go as high as you want when you have a severe tolerance and dependency and still be able to function, just at a much lower capacity.
I know i did. Paxil almost gave me a heart attack this weekend. Or at least it felt like it. Also, I have a beautiful partner and am young, too young to be impotent. Not taking another SSRI no matter what my Dr. Says.
Its a fast process, I really feel you should talk to your Dr. Regarding your increasing your dosage so fast and still feeling no relief...usually that means a drug is not right for you..you can take more xanax but if it isnt helping the anxiety you are just numbing yourself...don't want to seem...
And an update regarding the job situation. I decided to fess up to my family members about my recent PTSD diagnosis. I told them that I want to work but that I dont think I'm ready yet because it's a struggle to even make it through each day right now, and any extra stress will just make my...
That sounds interesting, not sure that I am ready to go back to school though..a little background on me for those that are curious..I am a 21 year old male, I attended a big university for almost a year until I spiraled into complete self destruction with alcohol/drug abuse (something that I...
Adhd meds are almost all stimulants. With Ptsd our cns is already overly stimulated. Adderall or the like always made me freak out in my days of pill popping. Now that im diagnosed I know why. My cns simply cannot tolerate any extra stimulation when my body and brain is already coursing with an...
Please any of you with paxil experiences check out my thread called Vistaril and Paxil in the medications forum if you have time. I had a bad experience on it and am wondering what any of your thoughts may be on it...did any of you have racing heart or heart palpitations...dissociation...when...
Well I'll update anyone who's interested. Had a TERRIBLE day yesterday on the Paxil. I was an inch from going to the ER at several points. I felt at times like I had the flu. Otther times it felt more akin to a severe, long lasting panic attack..or a heart attack. I also felt at times like I was...
I am having seriously crappy side effects on the Paxil after three days at 20 mg. Actually wondering if I should go to er for my fast heart rate. Of course my anxiety is also out of control so it could be that. But regardless, very bad side effects so far for me...how is the new med working out...
Today has been terrible..Major nonstop headache, off and on nausea of a pretty bad degree, and heart palpitations...racing heartbeat.....should I be worried??? Also, will I have withdrawal if I skip my dose of Paxil tonight? I've only took 3 20 mg doses so far. Very concerned....
I don't know I would assume you would know the answer to that better than I would, right? I didn't say you or anyone else was a junkie. I just said that using codiene for anxiety is putting yourself at risk to form bad habits. I feel that's pretty straightforward and should be common knowledge...
May I respectively suggest trying marijuana as a substitute for alcohol? Obviously self medicating is not the best long term strategy, but regardless many of us with ptsd (including myself) have been known to....marijuana will help you alot more, and won't keep you from work or normal...
So far I am not liking the Paxil. Can't tell if it is because I have testing today at the docs and cannot eat until they are done, but...I feel pretty nauseas....lightheaded...spacey...Just overall strange. Had a headache when I woke up. I hope this isn't a permanently there side effect because...
Kudos to you! Glad that you found your way out. So many people don't understand the way benzos work. They change your brain chemistry by flooding your brain with gaba. Eventually, your brain will not produce gaba properly once off of it. That inevitably increases your anxiety, the opposite of...
