I'm currently lying in bed and I have college tomorrow. Hard for an agoraphobic! But I'm having intense vertigo so maybe I won't go. We'll see.
Uh yeah, hi, just found this forum after a bout of self-hatred.
I'm an abuse survivor and I've been in therapy since I was 3. Like I said, I have agoraphobia. I also suffer from OCD and derealization/depersonalization.
I'm on Xanax and Prozac right now.
*Pushes up glasses* I'm a nerd and I have seen every episode of every Star Trek and every Doctor Who. I'm an aspiring editor and love reading, especially Russian lit.

It is perfectly normal to find starting college stressful and with PTSD and agoraphobia that just compounds the stress. Be kind to yourself and recognize that starting this phase of your life is a huge win and I hope you find some things here that will help you learn to manage the stress and symptoms so that you can live your life to the fullest.

Absolutely. My former therapist once gave me 3 rules.

1. Be kind to yourself.
2. Be kind to yourself.
3. Be kind to yourself.

Some days are hard but for the most part, I try to follow them and they work.
