I like this.

Seems you can find a lot of good in your family circle. That's really wonderful.

I can't seem to come up with anything good about my family, maybe a tiny few from my Mom......she was pretty strong to support a family of five with an ahole. But she was wacko too and did a ton of damage.

This will hopefully inspire me to try to remember a few good things about any of them.....perhaps I just never experienced that side of them. Everyone has to have at least a little something good about them, right?

Geez........my family of origin is better to forget I guess..........but still, there are amazing people in my life right now. Think I'll concentrate on that.

I'm going to make this a goal of mine. Thanks for starting this thread. I'm not sure, I'm in the mindset to do it right now -but I'll come back and try another day.

TEN -

Thanks for your post. It was a wonderful and much needed reminder to me that everyone has a "light side" - even those who have harmed me. Remembering the light side of everyone is such a balancing tool for me - helps me unclench, begin to open....

Thanks again,
Dylan

Thank you all for the encouragement! If I may ask, what are 5 things that you think are purely good in life. Its more than ok if some of those things are on my list. For me the hardest part about writing this was getting started, but once I put one thing down, the next became easier. I also found it was easier to start with benign things in life rather than people. So I ask again, what are 5 things you find good in life?

Also, I find when I get stuck, and cannot find anything else good (from my perspective) I can always fall back on the following:

A** Hole Abuser
1. Your body will age and you will become weaker.
2. Your body will get sick and even further limit your power.
3. Your body will eventually die and you will no longer be able to hurt anybody.
4. Everything you think you own will change and vanish.
5. I do not have to lift a finger for the above 4 things to happen, mother nature will do them for me, and there is nothing you can do to stop it.

I can think of 10 good things!

1. God! (well I do work for him and the rewards are fab lol)
2. Georgie / Sue / Gareth and Claire (people who made me realise that you can have close relationships
3. Music (stirrs up my inner most being with energy)
4. My family (who don't understand the illness but still keep me going with their thoughtfulness)
5. Sunset (a beautiful sunset makes me realise that there is so much out there bigger than my little world)
6. DayDreams (There is nothing I like better than floating off in my own perfect world esp when I get the low times)
7. Reading (another form of relaxation and escapism - nothing better)
8. Hot Bubble baths (full of scented candles and a little music - Bliss)
9. Hot Sunny days (especially walking along the beachfront)
10. Christmas (I used to hate christmas but now I have young nephews I love the excitement of christmas day!)

Excellent thread btw! x

5 Good things:
1) The love of my life! Means the world to me, and is amazing.
2) My best friend - who has been there for me for almost 2 decades.
3) My dog, she give me love over and over again, and never seems to have a bad day, and ready to give me love at a moments notice.
4) Great job! Taken years to get here but am doing a job that is rewarding and that I am good at.
5) Summer - sunshine. Warms me and touches me and makes things feel ok.

Excellent job everyone! Lets see if we can keep it going!

1. The internet
2. This forum
3. Face book games
4. Stretching
5. A good cup of coffee
