I think this is basic survival technique - something like mice. The more children you have the more chances some will survive. In 1st world or Western civilization, where we're all sheltered we have a way higher rate of childhood survival than 3rd world/developing countries.

I don't think there will be a "3rd world war".
War will continue to be terrorism and the "rich" people under attack will continue to be our countries, not individual people. So, big targets still like they have been for awhile, USA, Canada, Europe, Australia. USA being the biggest, obviously, and the rest of the world are all just waiting for it to collapse.

But with the United States being the biggest Anti-terrorism detterant (and probably antagonist)...where will the rest of our countries be when it does? Won't be anything left to hide behind.

and as a side note - the occupy movement - are you f*cking kidding me? how about the 99% of the people educate themselves and stop consuming the shit thats making the 1% rich??? do this first, then you have the right to complain about who has the money. Oh yeah, then get off your ass and work like your grandparents had to work just so you could sit on yer fat asses and complain about having nothing!

If your country looks defeated from the inside it's only going to be more appealing to the outside terrorists.

The earth is an amazing organism herself. When she has too many people, she creates diseases, epidemics, and natural disasters. The odds of living to age five in most third world countries is very low and if you do make it to adulthood you don't live to be 50.

Also, in those countries where abortion is available routinely to cull the female fetuses, they are designing their own extinction. When India and China get to the stage of having millions of males without females to reproduce, only the best of the best will reproduce (natural selection).

If you contrast the most successful countries with the least successful, one of the main things you will find is that females are educated same as males and that while women may not be revered, they are at least valued. In societies where women have no worth, no education and are treated like chattel - those societies tend to repeated implode upon themselves.

I used to go on medical missionary trips to South America. We treated the poorest of the poor. But until the people get educated they cannot take the proper measures to stay healthy. Year after year we would treat the same diseases, try to ameliorate the things that caused them - and year after year we would find that people don't follow through and so they and their children die in droves.

And amongst the uneducated here - I see people killing themselves with food, smoking, alcoholism, and meth, etc.
Jesus said the poor you shall always have with you - He could have easily as said, the stupid you shall always have with you.

World War 3 started Sept 11th 2001. The opening Battles have already been fought. The only differance between WW1 and WW3 is it's no longer politically corect to call this a war. But make no mistake, the world has divided into two camps, and the manouvering has already begun. Canada lost another this week end. Australia lost 3. 158 Canadians have lost their lives so far.

WW3 will probably happen within the next couple of years (if you want to call it that). Actually I believe that the prelude started years ago with 911. I don't want to get attacked for what I think, so please keep in mind this is only my opinion! Everything has been strategically planned, so that "The war on terror" would turn people against the Arab nations and give the USA a chance to get into that area for the oil. We have no say in what happens with our government, we're just like pawns in a game of chess.
The global financial crisis will bring everything to a head, it's just a matter of time. A lot of what has happened is our fault to, due to our greed and keeping up with the Jones's attitude, everyone living beyond their means. Go back six to eight years ago. The banks were throwing money at us, offering us more and more. Then came the crash, the house prices dropped, people all over the world lost their jobs and had their possessions taken off them.
At the moment all the countries world wide that have lived in tyranny, are revolted against the leaders and political systems that made them live that way. They just want a better life, however starting over again can leave the road open for corruption. People in power tend to have their own agenda, and it is not always for the good of the people.
Someone else commented that there will not be a nuclear war, which I agree with. No nation is stupid enough to do that, it would be a lose, lose situation.
With the Euro Crisis still not settled, and the American economy down the toilet, the future looks grim. And then we have China lurking in the background, waiting to play it's cards. They have been pumping money into big business all over the world for years, buying treasury bonds etc. I last heard that they offered to help out with the Euro Crisis. I believe the world will end up being run by a few nations, and the extremely rich. Apart from the fight over oil, there is of course the ownership of the world's fresh water supply.
