At the end of the course the instructor offered me 'remedial' lessons.
Omg priceless
So I went for my first rollerblade session this morning.
Omg.
The pain.
Shins.
Feet.
Glutes.
Lower back.

If there were sound effects that my body would make, it'd be like one of those old spring beds - *twang* OW! *Ping* Ugh! *Donnnnnnggggg* YEOW! *Ting* *small shriek* *groaaannn*!

But I pushed through and it became hypnotic and enjoyable.

Push. Glide. Push. Glide. Push - SHIT GUMNUT!:blackeye::whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling: Recover. Push. Glide. Push. Glide.:cool::cool:

Wheeee-omg can't stop-crap-road!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

At this rate, my cardio is an even mix of exercise and poor life decisions....

Push. Glide. Push. Glide CRAP DOG MOVE OMG!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek: whew. Recover.

BFF walking dog doesn't know if he should be worried about letting me adult today or cracking up at me...

Push. Glide. Push. Glide. Old muscle memory coming back. Muscles start to relax. Small smile on face. Speed up.
Push. Glide. Push. Glide. Push push push push HOLY MOTHER OF GOD WHAT INCONSIDERATE BASTARD PUT THAT STRIP THERE! *windmills arms looking like Humpty friggin Dumpty on tiny little wheels which jam up and quit as soon as life looks rocky*

You know the white strips they put on the ground for the visually impaired to use as a cue? The ones they put in the pavement next to bus stops?
Turns out you can't skate over those, none of the wheels will turn.:banghead:

Damn near wiped out, surprised I didn't cause a bloody car accident by a driver laughing their ass off at me.

Painting, writing in my Trauma Diary here, crocheting, writing poetry, going out for walks, going to WORK! (I am a caregiver). Burying myself in online fun, like chatting and some simple games. Eating some foods that are very pleasing to the taste also do this.

I rode horses for the first time since I was diagnosed/started having symptoms of PTSD and when my stirrup slipped cantering I nearly had a panic attack lol. My instructor is so nice though she has similar symptoms and has panic attacks so bad she's training her pup to help stop them (like me).

For me it's not that my symptoms go away. It's more like I can creatively focus them into making something and then they become bearable and almost beautiful. Art from drawing to painting to making videos of my poems. Writing my novel, just started again after stopping since 2015 and god, it feels so good. And training animals. I've taught like 5 cats to sit by now lol, and my SDIT knows a million tricks.

I discovered that 2 hours of hiking through lush forests near running streams has had the same effect. It was really restful, cathartic and food for the senses and I left feeling rejuvenated. Most telling of all though, was the extremely deep hour long nap in the evening I had before dinner - I usually get that only when I've done something deeply mindful and self tuning for an extended period of time.
