Anxiety That Presents As Light Headedness/dizzyness And Shaking

Sometimes I feel like I'm floating away. There really doesn't have to be a particular trigger. I can be in my room or at the store and my body will suddenly feel a jolt of adrenaline. Usually, I'll get stomachaches, sweating, and rigidness, but sometimes I'll feel very lightheaded. I can usually keep my balance, but it's like I lose touch with my body I suppose. I'll try to use my hands and they won't work, or they'll be too shaky to be of any use. I've had anxiety since long before my biggest traumas, but the lightheadedness is new. Anyone else have this? What helps?

Hi, I get lightheadedness when I dissosociate. It does not last very long. Have you gone to a doctor to get checked out? I have to ground myself in reality. Where I am, what am I doing, talking about it. Making myself feel safe. I hope this helps. Take care.

I have been to the doctor. I'm actually in treatment for schizoaffective disorder (an illness that combines symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder) and got diagnosed with PTSD shortly after I disclosed my sexual assaults to my pysch nurse. My doctor says it's normal for people with my disorders to get disoriented, but I haven't really had the courage to go into more detail :/

Well my heart goes out to you. I think you really need to bring this to your docs attention. Please go and get checked out before it gets any worse. Good luck.

I agree with Gizmo it's best to get it checked out.

I don't get lightheaded...well, not just lightheaded. When my anxiety is really bad, I tremble and hyperventilate. When I hyperventilate I get lightheaded. There is a grounding 101 thread on here. One of the suggestions in there about looking around the room for certain colors...like 5 blue things. That helps me so much to calm my breathing down.

Like Gizmo, I go lightheaded as I dissociate, this is the first symptom that I feel and can lead to forgetting how to use my body.

I don't know about the disorders you have mentioned here, sorry. But I believe that dissociation is common in many different disorders. It's always worth speaking about this stuff to your doctor.

I hope you find answers soon.
