Anyone out there find any active chat rooms for PTSD? I found a chat room that is suppose to have people in it every night but NO ONE ever shows up, except myself. I'm getting frustrated since sometimes I just want to talk to someone and not post something and wait a day. Anyone else ever feel like this, you just need to chat with someone but you need to chat NOW not two days from now.

Just having a rough day and I just want to chat with someone but there's no one around. My best friend doesn't have time for me, actually none of my "firends" have time for me anymore. My PTDS is too inconvienent for them. Just having one of those days and looking to chat with anyone.

Is there a real chat room out there for us???

I'm still waiting for my okay to enter chat, but as soon as that comes in, I'll see you in the room. Best of luck with the lousy days. I know what you mean about the friends. I've pulled away from most of mine, because I don't/didn't want to hassle them with my trash.

I have created an online PTSD chat room linked from the left column. This is a standing chat that requires no software installation, etc. Online, nothing special... we do not monitor this chat room or endorse it, though it now allows those who want to get together in one place a chance.

I just went over there and I was all alone, so I stopped talking to myself and I am going to go shave my legs now. And the mustache too.

I think it will take a little while for it to get going, it is us using it and if we aren't here, then we aren't using it. And many people don't know about it yet.

It will be good when we are on here, and then can go there to talk to each other.

It will get going I am sure. Be careful what you wish for also - it will be open, and that will take time to get used to also perhaps. Well it feels like it might for me.

I went in and stood and joked about it being echoey, to myself. I started to try to think what it might be like full.

there is so much to try with it
put alerts on and then it will let you know when its busy etc
create other rooms within
well this is different

Is it possible that most of the people that frequent that chat room are in a different time zone? I'm in the US, I sometimes go to a carers' chatroom that's based in England, and so I have to remember to show up there early in the evening or else I miss everyone.

I know AOL has tons of chatrooms (not sure if any are PTSD rooms, but there are mental health rooms and veterans rooms, if that's the source of your PTSD). I believe you have to be an AOL subscriber to join in the rooms, but these days you can get a free AOL account so it's not too hard to join.

Good luck finding a chat room.
