Any one else experienced being baited as part of abuse

Yeah, I'd always hate waiting for the punchline.
My favorite line would be "If you go out I'll kill myself."
Don't worry though, he could still see his friends!
I just couldn't see what little friends I had left. Or he'd kill himself, so he said.
Either way, ditch the people that aren't about you, I suppose. Survival above all, and all that.

A manipulation tactic used to isolate the abuser's target.

The posts here have been helpful, and I appreciate them a lot.

When I started this thread, I did so from my own perspective, I failed to realize that almost everybody's situation is different. And so "baited" takes on a lot of examples, situations, and meaning.

I was trying to get an understanding of my own experience. I dealt with Institutional abuse. And the baiting consisted of being told how compliant I was and then abusing me for it later.
