I’ve had three therapists since 1999. The first saved my life. Literally, his steadfast appreciation for the emergency stage and how well he kept me in a safe place. Sometimes back then I was just curled up in the fetal position. He kept me out of the hospital. I was seriously suicidal and cutting like no tomorrow. He bore witness to the emergence of repressed memories and just “held” me through it. Then I moved away. Second therapist again focused on staying alive and not cutting. But my third and present one is the bees knees! He is a trauma expert. Teaches others how to treat PTSD and is back doing therapy. I have many horrific traumas as well as a chemical brain injury. I took him all the neurologist tests that were done and the reports about my chemical injury. He not only read it, to this day he references various testing when we’re working on something that harkens back to the chemical injury. And he has studied with Bessel van set Kolk and follows his theory that the body keeps the score. He had me add energy work into my life and it’s been a godsend. I recently had my soul recovered and I am more hopeful and less flipping out. He understands trauma and he understands the damage to my limbic system from the chemicals. He’s also great with my dog. She loves him.
