Anyone claimed for criminal compensation in the UK and can share their experience?

Apologies if this is in the wrong section of the site. Wasn't too sure where to post.

Has anyone claimed for criminal compensation, and have any advice they would like to share?

I've made a claim on two crimes where there is no conviction. So no idea if I will get it or not.
I don't have a diagnosis for mental health but have said in the claim that I have been in therapy for X years. Do they contact your therapist? And if so, what has your therapist provided?

hi, have you spoken to a solicitor? They should be able to tell you what happens. From what I understand it’s more that you have evidence of the impact on you because no one can access your medical records. You would have to give permission for that and until you’ve taken legal advice, don’t give any permission.

You are the person initiating it, you are in control. No one can access your medical records unless you give permission x

No, I haven't approached a solicitor. I don't want them to take any of this compensation if I get it and also don't want to have to share with another person the details of what happened.

I'm ok about my medical records but there isn't anything on there about this as I never told my GP other than a couple of years ago when I thought about taking medication to manage SI.
All my therapy I've paid for privately so it's about what they would want from a private therapist really.

They can’t just hand anything over without your consent so maybe just give the therapist a quick call to see where they fit in to it all. At a guess, I think they would only share the details of the dates of sessions and cost and say the therapy was about what happened to you. But it’s only a guess
