I've just started drawing again recently. I go through phases of drawing pretty obsessively and filling sketchbook after sketchbook and then not being able to pick up a pen for months at a time

That's very good digger1. I get those moments of avid art and then no inspiration or desire to to anything. You just have to go with it don't you.

Favorite spot in a local park. I park my electric wheelchair under the willow tree out of sight for most people unless they look hard. It's peaceful and quiet and I don't have to worry about someone messing with me.

@Barberian That is my favorite tree. I have one in my yard and I use to have a reclining swing under it. Since it is close to the neighbors I moved my swing, but I still love my tree. My dane use to just stand under the branches so that they lied over her body like a cape. Love your picture!

@Barberian It's beautiful! :) I really love trees too. (they helped me survive when I was little, sounds corny, but they really did.)

I'm trying to learn how to draw/paint. I used to say I wasn't capable of doing it. That I wasn't "born to" do it. Not sure what techniques I prefer yet..

(The inner critic says I suck; but I haven't practiced much, so how could I be good at this yet? I need to practice. And I don't need to be Picasso or Matisse or anyone with a genius. I just need to somehow get the pictures out. At least a few of them. )

So now I'm trying to ignore the inner critic.. I'm also trying to ignore the shame("Don't show anyone that shit! You will only disgust others, besides the fact that you suck and are embarrassing!" ) . Also try to ignore the horror I feel when I look at what comes out of my hands, when I pick the pencil or brushes up. Not sure this is good for me. I feel better during the time I do it, for a short while, then worse.

Taken last fall. The only flower on the bush. On a plant that was easily overlooked, on the side of a trail. Not a striking flower as flowers go. To me, it was beautiful. When I take my camera with me, I look for these kinds of things. The positive, the beautiful things in life. It helps me not dwell on things better forgotten.
