Those are so beautiful and innocent 'findingmyself.' Brought tears to my eyes.

I too had horses as a child. I'm so lucky to have one now at 49.......he is what I wake up in the morning for. I'm so fortunate.
To me, there is nothing comparable to the bond one can have with a horse. People who haven't had the pleasure of that can not seem to comprehend it and I can't seem to explain it. There are no words.

ptsd and horses = trust, love, healing.

That is awesome @franciemarnie ! Thank you and yes, art is healing. My T is helping me cultivate it and she can pull meanings out of it that I had done subconsciously or without really thinking about it.

@TLight thank you so much :hug: You are so lucky, I hope to one day give my heart to a horse again. For now I volunteer at a therapeutic riding facility for kids and whenever I go back to my hometown, I go visit my old barn and ride. However, no horse has captured my heart like Greyson did. Yes! Horses are definitely healing, Greyson is who kept me alive in high school!

I know what you're saying though I can't draw or paint, unless you're talking about drywall, and even that's questionable. But I get you're work and understand the connection.

When I was little, maybe a couple years after the abuse, our horse was running wild around the pasture, clearly disturbed about something. I opened the gate to get closer to her, and as soon as I did, she ran right at me. For a second I thought she'd run right over me but she stopped just to one side of me. Right in front of me on one of her lower ribs was a bee, stinging her. I brushed the bee off and then had to go back and pull out the stinger. I petted her and she calmed down.

@WillyKat it can honestly be any kind of art, those are just the ones I work in. Thank you :)

Aw, poor baby :(. Greyson got stung one time while we were cantering towards a jump. I was already in two point position (leaning forward) and he bucked. When he did, I went under his neck. He lurched to the side to keep from hitting me but in the process he cut his shoulder badly on a tree. He immediately came and stood over me until someone got to me. Thankfully all I had was a concussion, I could have been killed. I felt horrible that he messed his shoulder up though for me, it had to have stitches.

@Hashi Thank you :)

My oldest granddaughter is part native American and she makes beautiful dream cathers that she either gives away or sells. She is in tune with nature.

What I used to do was go through magazines and cut out words that meant something to me. Then I would arrange them in a collage on brown paper. They meant so much to me. They told my story.

I am a strong believer in art expressing emotion.
