So I'd like you to watch this video. I discovered it recently, this guy has cptsd himself, and he really understands how important mindfulness/awareness is for cptsd.

In the video he just sits there, talking, and explains meditation and borderline features of cptsd in a very easy and humorous way. Recommended!

Oh. What a shame. For technical reasons I simply cannot watch Videos online ( maybe in 2020!) . However his face is a picture!

That was the best 17 minutes I had today!! I really liked what he said about being objective. My opinion doesn't count- wow! What a relief. Thanks for sharing.

His YouTube account is SPARTANLIFECOACH. I tried to watch one of his video's before but was having a very hard time dealing with some of the things he was saying. I'll try again though.

Yeah he sure has some opinion. I haven't watched his other videos yet (only partially), but I plan to do so.
Obviously what he says isn't absolute either, and it can be debated, but I thought he had some very refreshing thoughts about objectivity. I know that I need to learn not to take my own thoughts and impulses too seriously :)

He also has a site, with the same name, spartanlifecoach. He's a life coach in real life as well, his name is Richard Grannon. This is what he says about himself:

"I graduated with a BSc in Psychology from Aston University at age 21 and qualified as a Master Practitioner of NLP the following year having trained with Richard Bandler.I draw on elements of Neuro Linguistic Programing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Zen meditation, Hypnotherapy, Systems Thinking, Classical Psychiatry and Psychodynamics and Stoic philosophy to give you the most direct and practical solutions you need now.".

@Lucycat bummer! I can summarize what he says in the video for you, if you'd like.
If you'd like to hear it let me know and I'll see when I have a moment to do so!

In retrospect I'm not entirely sure if he also has ptsd though :P Maybe I just thought he did because he seems to "get" the dynamics.

Thanks @Radise but not just now. We are investigating installing satellite broadband. If we are able to go with that it will increase our speed into whole numbers and I will be able to see videos. I will have so much catching up to do :)

@Radise I'm pretty sure he said he had a lot of rage from CPTSD and started meditating in 2009. I liked how he said with PTSD quieting the mind is a challenge and if all we can manage when beginning meditation is 2-3 minutes, so be it. Start slow.

When I'm triggered it's near impossible to meditate at the moment, but I get it could also be a training thing (the more you do it the easier it becomes). Now that things have finally started to calm down for me again, I find it much easier to work on yoga and meditation than before. May not be the same for all, but my therapist said we are trying to lower my base line in regards to the fight/flight function always being on and then normalize it subconsciously. As such, it makes sense to me that even just 30 seconds can be a challenge if you are already upset.
