Been Having The Oddest Dreams Lately

I have looked at one of my books tonight and although I am not a fan of Sigmund Freud, his wish fulfillment dream theory does fit. Evaluation, in short, yes and no depending on all sorts of factors. In my case, the dream content could be setting the scene for my participation which fits the wish fulfillment theory but only that part of the dreams I have had recently.

Zoogal, lucid dreaming is a dream that you can control. I just happened to read that too but there is no explanation of how it works.

I read a book on lucid dreaming once because I wanted to learn how. Even though I read the whole book I was never able to. Some people are more predisposed to it than others. Apparently there are devices designed to partially but not totally wake you and these are supposed to make it easier to get into a lucid dream state. I'm not sure if they work or not. Never felt like springing for one. This was some years back though. Now you could probably get an app for that! I haven't checked though.

I dont want to control the content of the dreams. I am trying to manage being woken up by dreams. I have tried out what I learned about sleeping and it worked. I have never slept so well since I learned about melatonin etc but the last few nights have been different. 2 hours sleep then a horrible dream. The dream itself makes no sense (seemingly we forget 95% of dreams and we only remember the strange ones) but there is awful content which does not actually involve me but I am there seeing these things

Lucid dreaming is the concept of first being able to remember your dreams in detail upon awaking, then being able to be aware that you are dreaming when you are dreaming, and finally being able to take control of your dreams and direct them to the positive.

Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming
By Stephen LeBarge
I have the book, but so far I'm consumed with nightmares and unable to know it is "just a dream" (I hate that phrase!!!!!).
