Relationship Big Step

I went to see S the other night for movie night. It had been about 3 months since the last time we hung out together. At one point he hugged me and said he loved me just the way I am. I think that was a huge step for him. He has major trust issues about relationships and this was the first time he said anything like that in the year and a half I've known him. One time I told him I loved him and he said that he couldn't say it back. He believes everyone will leave eventually. I was just super happy. It feels to me that he made a huge step forward.

And I am going to say that people like us really appreciate people like you. Expectations are really scary I think as a general rule. Fear of not meeting other's expectations may have had devastating consequences during periods of our lives. Most of us really respond well to patience. And it takes a ton of patience at times. Thanks for supporting with such care and concern.

Completely agree with @shimmerz here. You are doing a very good thing and you are a beautiful person for it. You are proving to him that not all people are going to leave him or abuse his trust. The world needs more people like you.
