My youngest daughter was mortified, when I suggested my husband store the 1100 engine under the kitchen table, while he built the bike.

LB: We just backed up the truck to the top step and rolled it on in! Works like a charm to get past steps. :) Course now I have to build a damn ramp to get it out of the house.. LMAO....

Blwnawy: I would love to explain but I actually don't know exactly what part it is. What I do know is that something to do with the timing (an arm or something? broke) and my dad McGuivored a piece to work for now. So.. it's kinda the "hunt for the unknown fake part" to figure out what was done and what actual part I need...LOL it'a an engine adventure!

Hubby said is it an electrical timing or mechanical timing, part thats broke. Or could you take a pic of the part thats been botched. he said once he sees which bit of the engine its needed for, he will have a better idea.

What I have found is a Haynes manual free download, I have got it saved and will send it to you via PC.

Thanks amethist.. I have a haynes manual already. We pulled apart the carb last night.. not good. Have to find a new one (or more like a working one.) I highly doubt that I will have her running in less than a month. So I will be part hunting for the next while! It's the first snag. :)

Well we ran the bike last night. First time I've ever heard her and first time to run in over a decade. She lit right up no problems. :) I need new diaphrams and float needles and a bunch of other things.. but SHE RUNS! Now it's a matter of finding parts, bit o work, safety, insure and go! Getting excited now!!!!!!!
