Now an imaging study has found that these veterans have what appear to be unique structural changes in the wiring of their brains. This fits with the scientific consensus that Gulf War Syndrome (GWS) is a physical condition rather than a psychosomatic one, and should be treated with painkilling drugs instead of counselling.

And they still try to work out the cause... I don't think they will any time soon. No cause... no real treatment, which sucks.

Nope... they don't have a cause yet. If stress caused this, then why aren't other soldiers in flocks suffering the same from other operations?

I use soldiers because they're the single largest group placed in front of such stress, easily measurable. The Gulf is the only place this exists, hence Gulf War Syndrome. I've been on multiple operations across the globe, and me, nor anyone I know, has anything close to what Gulf vets are suffering. It isn't PTSD.

There have been lots of theories over the years, most biological agents due to some of the things they were exposed too... yet they can't find any further reactions after years of testing to agents that were present.
