Hey,

I had my first try of meds in march, and continued for a month of the lowest dosage of zoloft then a month of lexapro. Does it make sense that after tapering off quite easily in May, that I am still having side effects until this day?

Memory loss was the worst one and just recently I found myself a lot better probs early this month or so. today I got up from my nap and I had brainzaps. Pretty confusing, this shouldn't be happening?

It took me months to get off of a low dose of effexor, lots of brain zaps. I also developed an allergy to both heat and cold last lated several years after stopping the meds.
If I exercised I got hives, if it was cold my feet itched to the point that I wanted to rip my boots off and scratch them in the snow. SO I think it is possible to have side effects for a long time, though my doc denied this, I definitely did! Eventually, though, it did go away.

It took me well over 6m for the brain zaps(and other side effects) to stop after I slowly tapered off a very low dose of celexa. In only took the celexa for about 6m and at 10mg.

Anything is possible. I find SSRI's to be awful. But that's just my system, too.

I took Citalopram for 5 years, I started on 20mg (for one year) and then went up to 40mg (four years). I have only managed to totally come off of the meds 1 month ago. It took me four months to taper off and it was no fun whatsoever. The brain zaps started when I started tapering off them and even now, 1 month on I still get the brain zaps. I feel like the meds are out of my system in some ways, I feel like i can think clearer and make clear decisions but my head feels weird still. I take iron supplements for alertness and fatigue - that helps. Also I take 5-HTP which is quite good but even taking these supplements I still get the brain zaps so I guess it is something we have to deal with and eventually it will go away. Stay strong and well done for coming off the meds if you were feeling ready to do so, that is really positive
