Opinions mean nothing compared to current medical diagnostic fact. This forum deals in facts, not your opinion, your wishes, your desires, all of which can be wrapped in the fluffiest blanket of good meaning ever.I disagree with the posters here saying that being cheated on cannot cause PTSD for a couple of reasons.
A question is asked, and cheating is not on the list for PTSD, sorry. Cheating is already covered by an adjustment disorder, also a trauma and stressor disorder. You can have identical symptoms to PTSD, but PTSD is the name given to abnormally traumatic events, not normal expected life events, such as cheating spouse, naughty kids, arguments, normal death, so forth. There is a line drawn by the medical community, and that is what this forum follows, and not your opinion for what you feel should be acceptable here.
People really need to get focused and clearly define in their head, and differentiate between trauma, stressor and diagnostic label. They are not the same things. There are forums out there to support lesser stressful events and such... this is not that forum.
This forum covers topics outside of the PTSD qualifying spectrum for those with a qualifying PTSD trauma / diagnosed already. Again, that is different than supporting only a relationship breakdown as the traumatic issue here. Peoples relationships break down due to PTSD, thus we have such discussions and areas here for it.
