Can someone explain this quote to me?

For me it is the giving up of meeting expectations and wanting freedom to be me and be with my feelings. Away from even Gods expectations, if I believed in them. My experience of it is a desire for total privacy and an out. A WANT to be even be forgotten by God. Total acceptance and peace in self if that be misery or not. A safe space away from the world.

I'm having a question about a quote I once came across in a film called "Anon". I pretty much got fascinated by this quote but I am unable to grasp it fully. I checked in the internet but not much Info was given.

It goes like this:

I give the fight up: let there be an end,
A privacy, an obscure nook for me.
I want to be forgotten even by God.

  • Robert Browning
Any bright mind is able to explain this to me?

Thanks

Purusha
I read it thru a few times. So, I can only see it thru my own eyes.
"I give the fight up" (I surrender)
"Let there be an end" (I want the pain to end)
" A privacy, an obscure nook for me" (a place to hide)
"I want to be forgotten, even by God" (I see myself as no one)

Sounds like a fight to be insignificant, unrelied on and hidden away. Possibly to die peacefully, leave no mourners behind
