I'm not sure how socialism got tied into this, much less as a vehicle by which the wealthy somehow escape justice but oh well.
It's probably exactly because of reactivity combined with just plain pain felt for a murdered child ( whomever was responsible ) which evokes such strong feelings with this here. Tough to see past the press, also since of course they've been at it yet again-why not? Money to be made in other's tradgedies-been at it since charcoal could be smudged on papyrus. Probably can't compare the 2 too much but Amy Fisher is a Dr. Drew patient this season on the rehab program. Remember as being only one year older than being able to be an underage rape victim, that 35 year old slime ball had her shoot his wife then both he and the press finished her off? So yes, can't really get past the dam press with this.
Having said that, and tried well, wish there were an explanation for the chloroform search. Also yes, who knows what grief looks like, as Sea so expressivley pointed out? :) At the very least, however, at the time those photos were taken Casey knew her child was missing. It is indeed at least out of the normal range of human emotions for a mother to behave in this fashion, and the defense certainly also did go on to paint a picture of a nice, normal mother as far as how much she cared about her child. You can't have it both ways. Casey is 'normal' or she's not. The jury must just not have had enough by letter of the law for a guilty verdict, bottom line. I can't imagine being one of the jurers-must have been awful.
