For those in the US, it should be... Europe also, as those two locations have quite a lot of server locations.it is a very noticeable improvement.
Once anyone loads a page, once, anything static is then loaded onto the CDN, e.g. if someone posts a post with a lot of images, it may take that person 5 seconds or so to see their post as all the images are being pulled to the CDN, then everyone after that will get near instant image loads from a location closest to them, instead of reaching out to California and then waiting for the server combined with all other users.
The CDN is using SSD, so its ultra fast. The cost versus user benefit and longevity I will now get from this server... all very much worth it when combined. When I upgrade next I won't have to sacrifice so much for SSD drives and instead opt for decent drives, in RAID, yet lots more storage.
One CDN location is Melbourne, so its now like loading a site from a local server I work on. Amazing to say the least, removing those few hundred milliseconds.
