I wish his first wife had reported the abuse, it would have made him ineligabile (sp?!) to buy a gun. I wish his second wife would have not tried to talk him out of it, and called police instead. I wish homeland security would have made up some grounds to hold him, or deport him. I wish they had been tuned into his stupid father (why is that guy still here?!).

Distillation, isn't that all about drinking? That does not kill either I guess.

your argument proves too much https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proving_too_much

slips on wet floors, drownings in baths and swimming pools

no one "needs" anything other than a dirt floor in their house. No one "needs" a bath, no one "needs" a pool. banning each of those would (IIRC) result in a greater decrease in deaths in america than a complete and magical removal of all guns would

I say magical, because there's no other way of doing it, 96 years of some of the nastiest gun laws in the world haven't done it in Britain.

but banning baths, pools and tile floors would certainly make life for everyone else far less enjoyable and satisfying.

define (or discriminate) "assault rifle"

The term assault weapon is also commonly used to refer to some military weapons and weapon systems. The similar but technical term assault rifle refers to military rifles capable of selective fire - automatic (full-auto), semi-automatic, and burst fire. Automatic firearms (like machine guns) and assault rifles in automatic mode, shoot multiple rounds with a single trigger pull. Such firearms are Title II weapons regulated by the National Firearms Act of 1934 and Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986. Neither the ban nor its expiration changed the legal status of automatic firearms.

Since the days of the Reagan presidency, there have been no new additions to the ATF's [unreliable and ill kept] register of Title ii / full auto guns.

as a result, even a rather battered up, selective fire STEN, which represents the very bottom of the market, fetches somewhere in excess of $10,000. Selective fire guns are very, very serious money, and are the preserve of collectors.

I'll strongly suggest that the gun used in the nightclub, and virtually all of the guns described in the mainstream media as "assault weapons" are semi auto only.

What distinguishes those guns; for example AR15, AR10 or one of the AK family, from the Winchester 1907 or Remington Model 8?

Why AR-15 is mass shooters go-to weapon - money.cnn.com
... the AR-15 has been used in every war since Vietnam. ... The AR-15, the type of rifle used in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history, ...

Dead Link Removed (2013 )

"You asked for a list of the weapons that have been used in mass shootings in the United States since the Columbine High School shooting in Littleton, Colorado on April 20, 1999.

We have identified at least 49 mass shootings in the United States since the Columbine shooting. These are incidents where two or more people were killed, not counting the perpetrator.

Table 1 lists each identified mass shooting incident and the weapons used."

No need for an assault rifle to hunt. Purpose is mass killing without discrimination.

I didn't see anyone ask that
if it was me who you were referring to, I asked
define (or discriminate) "assault rifle" compared to a Remington model 8, available in the united state from 1906 (In Europe as an FN Browning from 1900). or a Winchester model 1907?
Both of which were clearly designed and marketed from the first decade of the 20th century as sporting guns.

additional questions;
where does the second amendment refer to "sporting", "hunting", "deer" or "wabbits"?

regarding improvement in technology and materials, is the first amendment limited to writing with a quill, speaking without amplification, and pamphlets printed on a hand printing press and distributed by horse drawn vehicles and sailing ships?
