I'm from Norway and we actually can have hot weather too, and it's not no-dark in summer and no-light in winter in the whole country.

And there's no polar bears in the streets (although if you live on Svalbard it's illegal to leave the house without weapons).

I'm pre-canadian, no I don't wear feathers, have never hunted or gathered (oh, damn, just harvested my first veg. garden! Ooops), I've never ridden a horse, I don't live in a teepee. I've never thrown a tomahawk. Yes, I do on occasion attend a Pow-Wow and no, it's not a war preparation, it's a celebration of my culture and an honour to attend. (BTW I'm also post-colonial, so we add u's to all of our english words.)

Hmmm, I don't drink every day nor did anyone in my family and I've never passed out on a city street. I do have running water in my house and I did go to school - to grad school in fact and yes, I paid for my higher education on my own. Oh and sad post-colonial fact, my mother attended a residential school, so not only was she beaten into being a Christian, she decided not to teach me my native language or culture. :(

Wow, I don't even have an accent - but my husband argues repeatedly with me on that one, says he loves my accent, lol. I've never been to a protest and my family served this country in our military - who repeatedly busts up "our" protests!

I've never "scalped" anyone - although post-trauma, there are some days.....that's an historical inaccuracy anyway! Oh and Columbus was lost, I'm not "Indian", LOL and contrary to popular belief, I've never said, "How" as a greeting (except in jest), Ugggh, yes, I'm an artist, no I don't make birchbark canoes and finally, yes, I married a non-native man (Scots-Canadian in fact) and no it's not against the law.

Aufwiedersehen!

LOL, my people existed on this land prior to the formation of this country and it's government, so we don't readily identify with "Canadian",(especially considering the oppression we still endure from the government) we usually refer to ourselves as our own nationhood (ie. blackfoot, ojibwe, sioux, cree, etc) but I thought calling myself Pre-Canadian was an easier way to explain it, LOL.

I'm Ojibwe, or more appropriately in my language, Anishinaabe (ah-nish-in-aw-beh)

I'm so out of touch with the mainstream that I had to look up the stereotypes for my region! Ahahaha! ;)

I'm happy to report that I don't fit the most of the stereotypes for "the American" that are common around the world. The one that does fit is I'm fat. As for the rest well: I have an education, am non-religious, live and let live and be the change you want to see, gothy and hippie, travel the world kind of gal.

Which gets me to the Seattleite stereotypes and we get to have some fun cause I totally fit the sandle wearing, coffee drinking, farmers market going, organic and fair trade shopping, recycling and reusing fanatic. I love where I live.

member of a grunge band

 While I was too sick to go on dates, I got to know my now husband over the phone, because his death-metal band-mate gave him my phone number after he took to long getting over his ex-girlfriend! Is that close enough?

And yes we wore flannel back then in the 90's. :woot:

Even poor people on TV seem to live in these totally sweet lofts.

Where I live it's half a million for a 2bed/1ba fixer upper house on a busy street. 800k for a 3bed 1.5 bath on a busy street. Student family digs (600sqft, 2bed/1ba) are $1700 a month with the subsidy. Meanwhile a barista on TV is living in a $6,000 a month apartment in Manhattan, or a 30million beach house on Perdido Key? Snort. Sure she is.
