Cool thread, which I missed until now when @Snowwhite's post bumped it to the front of the line. A few other Canadians have gotten in before me and I, like them, don't say "eh" or live in an igloo. What's left? Well, I can't remember the last time I ate maple syrup. Not that I'd mind. It's just too expensive. I also couldn't care less about hockey. That, I will admit, is not the norm. I'm just weird.

The myth I noticed most often on traveling was that people didn't realize just how vast Canada is, second in the world in land mass. I've never even been to our nation's capital.

Well, I must be off now, gotta go hunt some polar bear for dinner. :)

My goodness do I feel bloated; After eating cheese fondue and Raclette twice a day since the first Christmas day, which of course was topped with a mousse au chocolat, also twice a day. Now I'm so stuffed, that I even have difficulties to lift my arm and read the time from my Swiss Watch. Oh really, life can be so hard!

But what the heck is this?.... We don't have no Emmentaler cheese to survive the next few days! :woot::woot: So I'm off to the "jodeling hills" to hunt 'em down. Yes, of course do we shoot our Emmentaler cheese! Or from where do you think it gets its holes? :wacky::wideeyed:

Oh, well, that's most of the year, but there's a tradition on New Year's day that the person who traps the first polar bear and roasts it on a spit is honoured with a crown of beavers' tails and everyone has to pay tribute with the first of the year's maple syrup. Didn't you know? :-)

Well, I'm Australian.

Saying/hearing G'day or slang gives me an eye twitch, it's not proper English!

I hate flip flops, beer, horse racing, cricket, footy, tennis, bundy and country music.

I detest hot weather.

No we don't ride kangaroos, we now breed them to replace our effing useless postal system. Pouches are perfect for parcels.

I hate shrimp, so no, will not put another on 'the barbie - q'

No it's not hot here all year round....if it was I'd be frigging moving to the nearest snow covered country!

Pavlova is from NZ, so was Pharlap.

had to look up my states ones... im from connecticut

1. we are in everyones business with the gossip..... honestly i could care less and want everyone to stay out of mine.

2. Uconn basketball watching is religious... nope could care less for sports of any kind unless i know someone who is on the team.

3. I can say when someone asks where connecticut is , without any resentment that some dont know where it is, that it is near new york.

4. supposedly we have alot of rich people here, really ? ive never met them....definately not me.

5. you know at least one person who owns boat shoes.... nope and i dont have any, dont go boating.

6. you have gone to the meadows ( an outdoor concert areana) never been there myself

7. mixed liberal/conservative views... really i dont follow politics

8.Dodge the deer is a statewide pastime.... have seen them on the highway, but in my area you are more likely to be asking a flock of turkeys / or geese if you can get into the parking lot at the beach. I swear they check to see if you are a resident.

9. beliving you are a wonderful driver. i have seen alot of jerks who are begging to get into an accident, cant help if they make my driving sensible lol

10. field parties ( where you go to a park and have a picnic, get drunk, etc) Yes have been to several, though they were run by my husbands friends as a way to raise some funds for the son of a friend of thiers who was killed in a motorcycle accident. After a few yearly ones , they had an account for the son and were able to give him enough to buy a truck for himself when he was old enough to drive.
