@TreeHugger , "shooting the breeze" is an idiom meaning to chat without purpose, chatter, also known as "shooting the shit," like a sort of meaningless friendly banter between individuals, the way that shooting the breeze (or :poop:) would be without purpose.

I'm from New Jersey.

• Almost no one has a "New Jersey" accent, which I am convinced is a fabrication created in the north from New York accents mixing into NJ and in the south Philadelphian accents mixing in.
• The jughandle is a way of life, and where I live now would do well to embrace it.
• People in NJ are not the worst drivers in the country by far, but we are jerks, because we got places to be, so get out of the left lane, please. Also, driving 20mph over the speed limit is pretty standard, but don't do it with an out-of-state plate!
• We do have a lot of Italians and Jews, as well as every other friggin culture, so it's sort of moot.
• New Jersey really is the suburbs of New York and Philadelphia.
• It does not smell in NJ. Actually, the NJ stink people usually refer to specifically comes from a dump in Staten Island.
• What else comes from Staten Island... Oh, right, the entire cast of Jersey Shore!

Yes I can confirm it is not a myth. Also town is pronounced 'toon' .
So tomorrow I will be going doon the wee toon.

There are different accents in different parts but here it is very pronounced.

I live in Colorado. Most Coloradans do not smoke weed (though there are certainly those who do). There are plenty of us who do not ski or snowboard. Not everyone here is into hiking, fishing, or hunting. Not everyone is a cowboy. I live in Colorado Springs--home to Focus on the Family--but not all of us are evangelical Christians. I also live about an hour away from Manitou Springs; we're not all hippies. We also have 5 military installations here, but not everyone has a military history.

Folks think of Americans as being rich, having a lot of money and buying frivolous things with it. This may be true of some of us, but for me, I am poor, have very little extra money and certainly have no money to travel to another country, or even more than a couple of hours from my home. Even that last I cannot afford to do often.

That image is fast changing though. It's been a few years now we've been hearing about all the homeless people living alongside empty foreclosed houses and people going hungry while others aren't allowed to give away food because of licensing issues. It's so sad what is happening.
