In 2015 Depakote gave me a severe case of encephalopathy and had to be taken off the drug.
Now all I do is sleep.
While on the drug I apparently ran up some debts but I do not remember as the encephalopathy pretty much wiped my memory.
I've now got a debt collection agency chasing me for about £4000 worth of debt. Can I use the severe illness as a defence, i.e. no capacity. I also have nothing in my house that is worth £4000 and everything since 2015 has been bought with cash, I wouldn't dream of running up that sort of credit.
Is the debt company trying it on or when I was spaced out on the Depakote was I a victim of fraud.
Any help would be appreciated.
