Dom Violence Did you stay?

I am so proud of you and yeah that's good you're seeing your GP and she knows about it, that's really really good in case he did anything, so you have that proof there that you already told her what's going on. I think you're doing amazing and you just need that extra support of someone knowledgeable about DV

I would still reach out to your local DV shelter or counselling service. Therapists and GPs may or may not have experience in dealing with DV - particularly as far as the practical logistics of ending things. Leaving is when things get even more dangerous.

I was right to leave, right? It was justified? I don't have to feel bad about leaving him?

Yeah, absolutely, he was abusive to you, feeling bad is common but you done nothing to deserve the abuse and you were absolutely right to leave.

Despite his PTSD his actions and decisions are still his. His decision not to get treatment. His action to put his hands on you. You bear no responsibility for his actions and decisions. You had to leave. How many times can you be bruised and battered? No-one deserves that.

I've stuck to my guns. Supposed to meet him (with our own third party witnesses) in a public spot to return keys. Sounds safe enough, right?
