Everything clenches up as I trigger frequently. Just when I think triggers are gone for awhile and I've done lots of work, they come up just to bite me in the ass!!

I usually clench my jaw at first, my neck is tense, shoulders, fist etc.

I tend to mainly get tense when people put all their problems on to me.

I find it hard to say no to people so I always end up as peacemaker or councollor.
I wish I could say no sometimes I go to say I really can't but it always comes out as yes of course I'll help you.

I also get tense when I think something bad is going to happen like tonight my brother said he'd been talking to his ex and she was coming over tomorrow. I got tense right away and this is because he's family and she is not good for him.

She best not come near me is all I am saying I can't stand her as she broke my brother and I will not let her do it again.

I also get tense when I wake up every time doesn't matter if it was a good sleep or not.

I have always carried my shoulders really high and tense. I've had several Physical Therapists tell me that they've never seen anyone with such tension in their shoulders. I notice I keep certain muscle groups in my legs clenched a lot of the time. Seems like a lot of my friends love to stretch out and relax before they go to sleep. I like to get hunkered down, as curled up as I can, with my arms crossing over my chest and my head burrowed down chin to chest. Otherwise I feel vulnerable. I never connected this as a PTSD symptom.

My whole body, especially my legs and back, not so much teeth and jaw anymore...I have made conscious efforts in the past several years in order to attempt to get the Migraines lesser but big freaking deal when the rest of my body is in knots HA! ;)

Neck and shoulders almost always tense. I clench and grind my teeth..actually...my dentures. I was always a teeth-grinder, and it contributed to my dental problems. At least now I can stop at night...I take my teeth out!!! LOL, just thankful I have dentures!!

Step - have you thought of having a gum shield fitted, it worked well for me. I used it for 6mths while I was going through emdr therapy. The relief is incredible, after years of waking up with jaw pain & migraine it was gone. Now if itcomes back i use it for a few nights just to remind my jaw!
