Sometimes I delete entire message histories from texts with friends and family. I don't know if this is weird or not. I don't do it out of anger or anything against them. It's like a routine thing I do every month or two with most people.
A lot of this happens if I say something that's inaccurate, stupid or I regret. Or if a topic that's very difficult for me comes up. I just want to accept that and move on without looking at it. I may be tempted to scroll up and see the messages again, and it may cause me to re-experience things. I also delete like ~20%? of messages on Discord, which I sometimes get flak for because I understand can make some conversations confusing, but it's something I feel like I have to do to preserve myself.
