I run into people in my neighborhood and out at different places who act like they're being all friendly. But then they feel free to say snarky veiled sh** about my situation. In the first place, what business is it of theirs. In the second place, they have their own sh** going on that I could comment about but don't. Because who wants to intentionally be a complete a-hole.
Seriously, how insecure are these ppl?! Sorry, feeling like a rant.
Who sees a veteran coming back from war in a wheelchair and runs up to say "Hahaha, you can't walk"?
Yet they feel perfectly free to do pretty much the same thing if it's mental/emotional injury you're trying to heal from. Not being able to work, at least in the conventional sense, and having to push yourself to go out and do things, ppl throw up additional barriers and obstacles everywhere you go, making it harder to get well.
It's pretty much seen as "you're just being lazy" or "you're just sensitive" or "you're a person who looks perfectly well and is just deciding to be a bum because, you know, living that way makes your life so much easier". It's like public shaming for having ptsd (which I'm not willing to let anyone know I have, because then they'll be even more of an a-hole, they'll just have more accurate information to do it with).
