In the UK (my part) the treatment for PTSD is non-existent. The normal NHS counsellors are positively dangerous to your health. They can make the crisis even worse.
The error (in my view) is they use the medical model to consider cure or treatment. This seems to fail to realise that different personalities react in different ways to Critical Stress (arguable?)
They may all appear to react in the same way, but recover in different ways?
The military example is not always suitable (maximum 45%) for civilians.
The Samaritans volunteers can also be extremely dangerous. A charity called Mind, I have found to be the worst of all.
So my analysis (from experience) would suggest a 45% success rate for alleviations of symptoms under the NHS in the UK. This is very poor. Targets will recover despite, not because of, any treatment they get.
